Terms of Service

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Lanka.chat. By registering you confirm that you are 18 or older and legally capable of entering into a binding agreement. If we discover that an account belongs to a person under 18, it will be terminated immediately.

2. Account Registration

• You must provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for all activity under your account.
• One account per person — creating multiple accounts is prohibited.
• You must notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree to use Lanka.chat only for lawful purposes and in a manner consistent with these Terms. You agree not to:

• Harass, threaten, bully, stalk, or abuse other users in any way
• Post, share, or transmit illegal content of any kind
• Post sexually explicit, pornographic, or graphic violent material
• Impersonate any person or entity, or falsely represent your identity
• Send spam, chain messages, or unsolicited commercial communications
• Collect, harvest, or store personal data of other users without their consent
• Use automated bots, scrapers, or scripts to access the Service
• Attempt to hack, disrupt, or gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service
• Promote or incite discrimination, hate speech, or violence
• Use the Service for any fraudulent or deceptive purpose

4. Content Standards

All content you post — including profile information, photos, messages, and chat room contributions — must comply with these standards:

• Must not be illegal, defamatory, obscene, or pornographic
• Must not violate the intellectual property rights of others
• Must not contain malware, viruses, or harmful code
• Must be relevant to a social/dating context and not commercial advertising

We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these standards without notice.

5. Intellectual Property

You retain ownership of content you create and post on Lanka.chat. By posting, you grant Lanka.chat a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to display, store, and distribute your content solely for the purpose of operating the Service. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account.

The Lanka.chat name, logo, design, and underlying software are our intellectual property and may not be copied or used without our written permission.

6. LGBTQ+ Inclusion & Non-Discrimination

Lanka.chat is an inclusive, LGBTQ+-friendly platform. We do not tolerate discrimination, hate speech, or harassment based on sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, race, ethnicity, nationality, or any other characteristic. Violations will result in immediate account suspension.

7. Advertising

Lanka.chat displays advertisements served by Google AdSense and potentially other third-party advertising networks. These ads help us keep the Service free. By using the Service you acknowledge that advertisements may be displayed. We are not responsible for the content of third-party advertisements. 8. Privacy

Your use of Lanka.chat is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Please read it carefully.

9. Disclaimers

Lanka.chat is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses. We are not responsible for:

• The conduct, content, or accuracy of any user's profile or messages
• Any interactions or meetings you arrange with other users
• Any loss or damage arising from your use of the Service

You use the Service at your own risk. Always exercise caution when meeting people online.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Lanka.chat and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or permanently terminate your account at any time, without notice, if you violate these Terms or if we determine that your conduct is harmful to other users or the Service. You may also delete your account at any time from your account settings.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Sri Lanka. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Sri Lanka.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will post the updated Terms on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
